Anxiety Counselling
When your mind won't switch off and everything feels overwhelming...
When your mind won't switch off and everything feels too much... Anxiety counselling can offer a lifeline. If you're reading this late at night, exhausted from relentless worried thoughts and feeling stuck in a pattern that just won't break, know you're not alone. I understand how anxiety can drain your energy, leaving you physically and mentally exhausted, with no room to simply be. It isn't “just overthinking” or something you should be able to snap out of. You're not weak, broken or failing. Sometimes, anxiety is all-consuming and takes over before you even realise it.
I offer anxiety counselling online or by telephone supporting people across the UK. I work in a gentle, unhurried way to help you reset and begin finding calm again. You don't have to manage this alone.

What Is Anxiety?
Anxiety is a natural human response to perceived threat, something we all experience at times. It's that feeling of unease, worry or fear that can show up in both our minds and bodies. Usually, anxiety passes once the stressful situation is over.
However, when it becomes constant, overwhelming, or feels out of proportion to what's happening, it can start taking over daily life. Anxiety can change how you think, the way your body feels, and even how you behave around others.
Many people come to me at Free To Be Me Counselling because anxiety has become more than just an occasional worry. Remember, anxiety is common, but you don't have to live feeling consumed by it. Your feelings are valid, and there is hope for relief.
How I Work With Anxiety
At Free To Be Me Counselling, I create a warm, open environment allowing you to remove the mask, be real and talk about how anxiety affects your life, at your own pace. My unhurried approach means you'll never feel rushed or pressured, and together we'll look beyond just the symptoms to gently explore what might be underneath your anxiety: triggers, unhelpful patterns, or deeper roots connected to grief, past experiences, low self-esteem or depression.
I support you in recognising anxious thinking styles and help you find more compassionate ways of relating to yourself.
We'll explore what helps your nervous system to feel calmer and what steps can break the cycles that keep you stuck. My work as a bereavement counsellor also means I hold space for the whole of your experience, because, so often, anxiety is linked with loss or change. Here, you'll always be met with understanding and hope.
