Online Bereavement Counselling for adults experiencing grief, loss & suicide bereavement / Huddersfield & UK

If you've landed here, something has changed and you're probably carrying more than you're letting on to the people around you. That's exactly the kind of thing we can work with together.

I'm Joanne Reed. I work with people navigating grief, loss, and everything that comes with it including the parts that feel too complicated, too raw, or too embarrassing to say out loud.

You might be asking yourself, “Why can't I move on , or why do I feel guilty for moving on?” or perhaps you are thinking “I am relieved my loved one died, does that make me a bad person?” or maybe you are angry and that scares you. Grief leaves us with so many questions and worrying thoughts and feelings. I can help you make sense of them.

I work with individual adults, online or by telephone. I help my clients to find ways of coping with their loss and all the changes it has brought into their lives. I charge £60 per session and offer flexible appointment times.

Is this normal?

You might be wondering if what you're feeling is normal. The anger. The numbness. The moments where you're fine, and then suddenly you're not. The guilt about that.

It is normal. All of it.

Grief is rarely what we expect it to be , and most people spend a long time wondering if they're doing it wrong before they give themselves permission to talk to someone.

I can help you to understand your grief and process the complicated emotions it comes with.

It is not easy to talk about which is why when it comes to grief counselling in Huddersfieldit is important that you feel comfortable talking to a person you can trust, someone who is warm, compassionate and relatable. Clients tell me that they feel supported and understood when working with me and I help them get ready to take the next steps in their lives.

How could grief counselling help me?

Here, you don't have to be okay. You don't have to manage how you come across, protect anyone else's feelings, or find the right words.

You can just be where you actually are. Together we can start to make sense of what's happened; not to move past it, but to find a way to carry it that doesn't cost you everything.

You can take off the mask and be real, express your deepest and most painful feelings and fears.

You can begin to understand the impact of your loss and come to terms with what has happened without worrying about being judged or feeling like a burden.

I can teach you tools and techniques so you can cope better with overwhelming moments, supporting you to restore a sense of control. Together we can explore ways of remembering and honouring your loved one.

In addition to online grief counselling, I also help clients with other issues such as depression, anxiety, stress and loneliness.

Working remotely means I can support people across the UK.

Who I work with:

You might have lost someone recently, or it might have been years ago and it still doesn't feel resolved. Maybe the loss was a bereavement, a relationship, a pregnancy, or a version of your life you thought you'd have. Maybe you're supporting someone else through it while barely keeping yourself upright.

If grief is making it hard to function, hard to connect, or hard to imagine what comes next - this is the right place.

I also have particular experience supporting people through suicide bereavement, one of the most complex and isolating forms of grief there is.
